The short version: Hearthstead does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Everything you enter stays on your device.
Skald S-Corp (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Hearthstead application, accessible at app.hearthstead.io (the “App”) and the marketing website at hearthstead.io (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App and Site.
Hearthstead is designed as a local-first, offline-capable progressive web application. It is built on the principle that your personal records — land logs, creature notes, journal entries, and observations — belong to you and should remain under your control.
Hearthstead requires no account creation, no email address, and no registration of any kind. You open the App and begin using it immediately.
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
All data you enter into Hearthstead is stored exclusively in your browser’s IndexedDB storage, using the Dexie.js library. This storage exists on your device only. It is not synced to any server or cloud service operated by Skald S-Corp or any third party.
If you clear your browser’s site data or uninstall the App, your Hearthstead data will be permanently deleted from your device. We have no ability to recover it, as we do not hold a copy.
The marketing website at hearthstead.io is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This data is collected by Vercel as our infrastructure provider and is governed by Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
We do not run analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or third-party tracking pixels on hearthstead.io or app.hearthstead.io.
The App does not use cookies. The marketing site may use a minimal session cookie set by Vercel’s infrastructure. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or analytics.
Hearthstead is not directed to children under 13. Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Because Hearthstead collects no personal data, such changes are unlikely to affect your privacy in any meaningful way. We will note any substantive changes clearly.
